Alex Yoo

An Architect by education & profession, Alex Yoo has served for the past 6 years as Senior Director of Design & Project Management at Marriott International and is based in Dubai, UAE. In his 25 plus years of experience, he has designed and managed projects of diverse scale and scope, from sports stadia to entertainment venues and hotels.

The depth and breadth of Alex’s project portfolio at Marriott is significant, ranging from Select Service brands (i.e., Courtyard, Four Points by Sheraton), to Full-Service (i.e., Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton), to Luxury Brands (The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, W Hotels, St. Regis), for projects across the Middle East and Africa region. He has an in-depth knowledge of the Design and Facilities Operational requirements of a hotel project, executed through the lens of Marriott’s robust Design Standards across 30 Brands.

Prior to his tenure at Marriott, Alex began his career in the Middle East Region as Project Architect at KEO International Consultants, and subsequently served as Project and Design Manager on the Dubai Parks and Resorts theme park project for Samsung C&T.

A professionally licensed member of the American Institute of Architects, Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the University of Virginia, a Masters in Sustainable Development from Harvard University, and an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
